COVALENT / Website information
Privacy.
We believe good connections start with trust. Here’s how this simple website uses information.
Who is responsible?
Elliott Watson, operating as COVALENT, is the data controller for personal information handled in organising COVALENT activities. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@joincovalent.co.uk.
Information we collect
This website has no member accounts, contact form or on-site booking database. When you email us, we receive your address and anything you include in your message. When event registration opens through Eventbrite, we expect to receive attendee names and email addresses, plus optional job titles, organisations and requests for help meeting people. We may record attendance and event-related communications.
Why we use information
We use enquiries to respond to you, and registration details to administer events, communicate practical arrangements, manage attendance and help with introductions you request. We generally rely on legitimate interests in running the community and events, or steps connected with your event booking where appropriate. We will assess the applicable lawful basis for each activity. Optional promotional emails require a separate choice; booking an event does not automatically subscribe you.
Eventbrite and other providers
Eventbrite will handle event bookings and store registration records on its platform. COVALENT organisers can access attendee information needed to run events, so COVALENT remains responsible for its own use of that information. Eventbrite also has its own privacy practices. We do not intend to keep a separate attendee database or share an attendee directory. We may share requests for introductions with event hosts only where necessary.
Website and email services
Cloudflare delivers and protects the website and may process IP addresses and technical request information. Our branded email uses iCloud Mail, provided by Apple. This site currently loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive technical connection information. These providers may process information outside the UK, subject to their applicable safeguards. We have not intentionally installed advertising or analytics cookies.
Photography
We may take casual photographs at COVALENT events for community communications. We will inform attendees, provide a way to opt out and avoid publishing identifiable photographs of people who have opted out. Contact us if you have a concern about a published photograph.
How long we keep information
We retain enquiries only for as long as reasonably needed to respond and manage follow-up. We aim to review event attendee records around three months after each event and remove unnecessary organiser-held copies, subject to any longer period needed for a specific legal or operational reason. Eventbrite and other providers may have their own retention periods. If you opt into promotional emails, we keep the details needed to honour that choice until you unsubscribe or they are no longer needed.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction or objection to certain processing. You can also withdraw consent where we rely on it. Contact hello@joincovalent.co.uk and we will respond in accordance with applicable law. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Last updated: 24 October 2026. This notice will be reviewed when Eventbrite registration opens or if we add new data-collection tools.
